Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) Process:
Over the past 20 years, Fiber Dynamics, Inc. has developed three distinct Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) process capabilities to address the needs of customers.
Conventional Matched-Die Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) Process
- For complex, lightweight cored and solid laminate structures
- Economical, high volume production capability
- Excellent surface finish and structural properties
- Out-of-autoclave process lowers cost for the client
Vacuum-Assisted Resin Transfer Molding Process (VARTM)
- Autoclave quality parts at a fraction of the cost
- Outstanding surface finish, minimal finishing required for paint prep
- Use integral stiffeners and cores when extra stiffness with minimal weight is required
Lost Core Resin Transfer Molding Process (LCRTM)
- Enables manufacturing of complex, hollow interior cavities with internal stiffeners
- Offers intricate assemblies involving metal details, inserts and internal stiffeners with no secondary bonding or fastening thus enabling fabrication of integrated / co-molded structures
- High fiber volume composite geometries
- Superior control of wall thickness in critical thin-wall applications
- Proprietary manufacturing process
